Company: 16-year-old development firm with 15 employees, revitalizing emerging urban neighborhoods. Completed 600k SF of projects in Columbia Heights, Petworth, and Dupont Circle, and over 400k SF in the pipeline.
Job: Joined 10 years ago – leads team of five, overseeing development.
Memorable project: National Association of Realtors building on New Jersey Ave., May 2004. First LEED Silver certified building in DC.
Current projects: Starting two ground-up boutique condos on Georgia Ave., in next few months. Also starting affordable rental project in Q2, pre-development for three sites, and working on large rental project in Mount Rainier.
Grew up: Roanoke.
Current home: Mitchellville.
Why DC: To attend Howard University in late 70’s.
School: Howard and University of Maryland (MBA).
First job: Cook and kitchen man at Long John Silver’s in high school.
Job in another life: Motivational speaker or coach of NC Tarheels basketball.
Daily habit: Read bible and pray with wife before work.

Bucket list: Travel to Egypt to see the Sphinx and pyramids and travel to South Africa.
Family: Married 25 years; two sons (19 and 22).
Hobbies: Coaching AAU basketball, bike riding with wife, and supporting Alpha Phi Alpha (college fraternity).
Startling facts: Been volunteer youth sports coach for 15 years and co-facilitate Men’s Discipleship program at church.
