Office of Youth Empowerment

NDC serves as the pro-bono project manager for the Office of Youth Empowerment’s (OYE) upcoming beautification project. As a subdivision of the District of Columbia’s Child and Family Service Agency, the OYE’s mission is to help at-risk teenagers and young adults in foster care to find permanent homes. Additionally, the OYE educates these youth about career, financial, social and life skills that they will need to successfully transition into adulthood. The goal of the beautification project is to renovate portions of OYE’s existing office space located at 3700 10th Street, NW in support of this mission. The project’s four major components are a Teen Technology Center, Teen Lounge, Family Comfort Center and Rooftop Garden/Event Space. The project is expected to officially kickoff in late Spring 2011, with completion slated for Summer 2011.
